Licensed Psychologist


Dr. Julene “Jules” Nolan is a licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist with more than 15 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and the educators who serve them. As the owner of Phoenix School Counseling, she provides oversight and ongoing support for Camp I Can.

Dr. Nolan is the past president of the Minnesota School Psychology Association, chairs the Issues in Human Diversity Committee for the International School Psychology Association, and serves as adjunct faculty at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She is also the co-author of Real World, Real Challenges: Adolescent Issues in Contemporary Society, a widely used textbook on adolescent psychology.

Since 2008, she has worked as a school psychologist, evaluator, consultant, and trainer—helping schools implement effective mental and behavioral health practices, trauma-informed strategies, and evidence-based frameworks such as PBIS, the Nurtured Heart Approach, and the MindUp Curriculum. Her expertise directly informs the supportive, growth-focused environment at Camp I Can.

Dr. Nolan lives in Minneapolis with her husband, Mike, and has three adult children. She enjoys empowering youth, traveling, and supporting their family’s hospitality projects Hotel Alexander and Arch and Cable Hotel in Mankato, Minnesota.
